Craig
attended Birmingham City Eye Hospital Thursday 7th June for a progress check
on the condition of his right eye.
Craig had the
eye scanned and was examined by three consultants who advised him that his
eye has not made any progress towards the return of vision and he should not
hold out hope of any in the future. Although his eye has not gone any worse,
the extent of the initial damage is so severe that it is highly unlikely
that it will improve.
The retina
has stayed in place following surgery, the lens was damaged beyond repair,
the cornea is still badly damaged and optical nerve damage is also
suspected.
Craig now has
a wait for three months before the eye team undertake any further
examination and will return to St Dunstan's in the meantime.
All in all, a
pretty bad day !
