Network Rail's service centre in Crewe held a "Combat Day" in support of the "Freddie Fund". Members of the team in Crewe invaded nearby Nantwich on a Freddie Fundraising mission.

The newly formed "Freddie Platoon", led by "Colonel" Mike Shannon planned their event with military precision and although "Freddie" couldn't join them, they lead the charge into Nantwich on August 10th 2007.

During the invasion, the platoon moved amongst the local population to receive donations for the "Freddie Fund" in each of the planned target locations. The famous Nantwich Jazz Festival beer route was the chosen objective and the fantastic sum of £570 was raised during the mission.

This latest fund raiser brings the total raised by the Freddie Platoon to over £1,000.00 so far and Craig passes on his utmost thanks for their support of the Freddie Fund. It's a fantastic achievement by a fantastic group of people!
