St Dunstan's - Brighton

Initially on that first Monday, Craig was struggling to come to terms with his new environment, and felt as though he'd been abandoned to an old people's home.  He wasn't happy!

The program for the day included physio for his arm, more orientation of the building, an introduction to IT skills training and mobility assessment.

In Mobility, Craig was introduced to the "long cane", which is the stick that he will use if out and about, and how it is used to navigate safely.

He spent the evening in the bar, "mine sweeping" with two old characters Robbo & Pat.  A pair of Guiness swilling scousers, who were delighted to help settle him in.

By the end of the day, he'd overcome his initial feelings and was determined to throw everything into the week and get involved in all of the activities throughout, which was great news for everyone concerned and, once more, Craig had shown his grit and determination to see the job through.
